About the position: This position is assigned to the Arts and Crafts facility of the 6th Force Support Squadron Community Service Flight, MacDill AFB, FL. Physical Effort: Works in tiring positions for prolonged periods. Work requires frequent standing, bending, stooping, crouching and arm movement. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 pounds.

Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of wood crafting methods and techniques to make and repair a variety of wooden items with unique and intricate shapes and designs. Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of a wide variety of hardwoods, softwoods, plywoods, veneers, wood substitutes, gluing and bonding agents and other woodworking materials. Ability to compute and ensure consistency of dimensions on interlocking parts. Knowledge of safety regulations, practices and procedures; ability to prepare operating budget, control and account for funds, prepare supply requisitions and maintain stock and equipment levels. Knowledge of set up, operation and maintenance of precision wood crafting machines and woodworking hand and power tools. Skill in interpreting complex instructions, sketches, blueprints and specifications to make jigs, templates and fixtures to extend and/or adapt machines. Ability to instruct and assist wood shop patrons. In addition, must be able to follow written and/or oral instruction, work orders and specifications related to wood crafting work.
