Job Summary
About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, located at Desert Oaks Golf Course on Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, TX. This position is Regular Full Time. This position is guaranteed a minimum of 35 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. As a Regular Full Time employee you are eligible for leave and benefits.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible experience in golf course maintenance, which provides a technical knowledge of turf propagation, cultivation, course equipment and mechanics, irrigation and drainage systems and controls, horticulture, and insect/pest control and various turf diseases and remedies. Requires knowledge of personnel management principles and policies sufficient to supervise and direct a staff of ground maintenance employees. Knowledge of grass seeds and sprigs, plant nutritional products, plant control products, and soil and sand mixtures. Knowledge of golf course construction and golfing techniques. Membership in the Golf Course Superintendent's Associate of America is highly desirable. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Requires current state and/or Federal certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months of hire date.
