Job Summary

This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of the Chief Operating Officer in Washington, DC. The incumbent serves as the Space Management Specialist who is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all phases of the facilities program dealing with space, property, safety, motor vehicles including the development of policies, and programs designed to increase the effectiveness of SBA's operations.

Job Description

GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: Managing large office buildings or large office complexes including improving customer and client agency satisfaction with building services; and Applying the principles and techniques of building construction to plan, direct, organize and coordinate the activities of an agency contractor and other personnel, and developing policies and programs designed to increase their effectiveness; and Developing space utilization plans for a government leased or owned facility; conducting space utilization studies for a government leased or owned facility; and Collaborating with cross-functional teams on space management projects; overseeing space renovations in a government leased or owned facility; and Overseeing the space and facility management database to track space and facility changes; keeping architectural backgrounds up to date. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Generally, time in Non-Pay status as a federal employee is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed above. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 08/31/2026.
