The incumbent is responsible for planning and performance measurement, providing analysis, advice, and recommendations on matters pertaining to requirements for the Coast Guard Cryptologic Enterprise (CGCE).

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GS-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: System administrator providing oversight of operating systems, ensuring robust security and proficient administration of cloud-based environments. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems in alignment with an organization's IT framework to meet critical business needs; along with IT-related experience demonstrating Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving as described in the vacancy announcement. Extensive knowledge of network configuration management methods and techniques for integrating information system components sufficient to install and maintain software and hardware, optimize functionality of systems, and diagnose and recover failed systems. Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume.
