Job Summary
This position is located in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court Clerk's Office in Reno, Nevada. The Case Administrator/Courtroom Deputy performs various functions, such as maintaining and processing case information, managing the progression of cases from opening to final disposition, docketing, noticing, and maintaining official case records. He/she will perform general or specialized court or courtroom functions such as electronic court recording, calendaring, taking notes in court proceedings.
Job Description
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS To qualify for a position of Case Administrator/Courtroom Deputy, must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of one year of specialized experience. Specialized Experience: Progressively responsible administrative, technical, or professional experience that is closely related to the functional duties of the open position and which has involved the routine use of computer keyboard skills and use of specialized terminology, and demonstrated ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws. (Specialized experience most applicable will have been obtained in a court or related legal field.) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of courtroom protocol and handling sensitive (sealed) matters. Good knowledge or experience in clerk's office procedures. Must have skill in communicating and working with judges, counsel, and others in scheduling events and managing courtroom logistics. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and maintain trust of judicial officers. Ability to take notes and summarize material for minutes/judgments. Knowledge of and skill in use of applicable automated systems (automated systems currently used by bankruptcy courtroom services personnel in Nevada are CM/ECF (Case Management/Electronic Filing Program), Chambers Automation Program (CHAP), Word and/or Outlook. Detail oriented and good knowledge of language usage, grammar, and spelling. Ability to meet strict time demands and work well under pressure. Excellent interpersonal skills.
