Job Summary
This position is located in the Recreational Services Division and reports to the Chief of Resident Services. The incumbent is to serve as supervisor of the Recreation Department, with responsibility for the overall diverse programming, financial and personnel management of the division's facilities and programs offered to the Home residents, employees and guests.
Job Description
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. CERTIFICATION: Applicants must currently possess and maintain a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential, issued by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC). AND Specialized Experience for the GS-12: You must have at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service, that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Specialized experience is defined as: Creating, implementing and advertising a wide range of recreational programs in a healthcare environment; AND Establishing and operating a financial budget with numerous cost centers; AND Overseeing staff (e.g. develop performance standards, disciplinary issues, and/or schedules) SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
