About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Center on JBER, AK. This a Regular Full-Time position. Regular Full-Time employees have a work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: 1 year of experience with operating a ski hill is preferred. Be familiar with all training requirements to meet ANSI regulations for ski hill operation. Working knowledge of winter recreation activities, i.e., alpine skiing, snowboarding, sledding, etc is preferred. Skill in dealing with the public is preferred. Applicant must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals or groups using degree of tack and diplomacy. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Background Check (Tier One). Must be able to lift, handle, and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and with assistance objects up to and over 50 pounds. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment Physical. Must either have First Aid and CPR, Wilderness First Responder, EMT, or Outdoor First Care medical certification, or gain certifications within 4 month period after selection.
