Job Summary
The CDC Director plans, manages, and oversees all operations to ensure high-quality, regulatory-compliant care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Responsibilities include staff supervision, policy development, budget oversight, safety compliance, training, and program evaluation. The Director promotes child growth, staff development, and family involvement while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and effective environment. This position is Limited Term, Not To Exceed 15 October 2026

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. QUALIFICATIONS: (1) A 4-year degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, Home Economics (early childhood emphasis) or related field of study AND 3 years of full-time experience working with children and/or youth. OR (2) A Master's degree in the related field of study AND minimum of 1-year professional experience working with children. (3) Knowledge of the principles of child development and in designing and managing an exceptionally complex program that includes, but is not limited to safety, security, disease prevention, employee training, developmentally appropriate activities, parent involvement, and facility management. (4) Knowledge of and skill in applying both Federal and State laws governing the detection and prevention of child abuse and/or neglect. (5) Knowledge of facility design, functional use, and maintenance concepts; DoD, local and state child regulations and procedures as well as other regulations and instructions pertaining to military childcare. (6) Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and purchasing as it pertains to a child development program. Skill working with military families and an understanding of military lifestyles is preferred. ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and possess strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to identify and respond to emergency situations, including evacuations, child illness, and physical and emotional disorders. Ability to supervise others, exercise sound business skills, and provide positive personnel management. Condition(s) of Employment: Satisfactory completion and favorable adjudication of installation records checks, and state and national criminalbackground checks may be required for positions that provide lessons or instruction to children. Successful completion and favorableadjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required.
