Job Summary

This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at The Mathis Fitness Center on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Regular Part-Time (RPT). You are guaranteed 20 hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours/week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a RPT employee, you are eligible to earn annual/sick leave and sign up for benefits, to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401k and NAF Retirement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have a minimum of two years' experience which demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts and techniques of physical fitness and sports programs as related to exercise, physical fitness and team sports. Experience must have shown the ability to plan, supervise, and administer physical fitness and sports programs, to guide and teach participants the skills and techniques for participating in various sports. Associates degree or higher in sports or fitness related fields is highly desirable, but not required. Must be able to obtain an enhanced fitness certification from either Cooper Institute for Aerobic Research (CIAR) or American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) within one year of assignment. Must be able to satisfactorily complete the AETC Fitness Fundamentals Course within 180 days of assignment. Must complete basic first aid training and Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with 30 days of assignment. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and successfully complete a pre-employment physical. Must read, write and speak English and communicate effectively. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty. Must satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 background investigation.
