Job Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the 92 Force Support Squadron, Auto Hobby Shop, Fairchild AFB, WA. The primary purpose of this position is to perform and/or assists other recreation assistants or specialist in the operation and maintenance of an Auto Hobby Shop. This is a Flexible (Intermittent) position; guaranteed 0-40 hours per week; depending on the needs of the facility.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures is desirable. Experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade/series level of the position. Ability to read, write, speak English and deal effectively with the public. Must be able to follow written and/or oral instruction, make simple mathematical computations and be able to follow cash handling procedures. Experience which demonstrates knowledge of a wide variety of automotive tools and parts is desired; good workshop practices to include setting up and maintaining a neat, well organized and secure storage area; inventory procedures and records maintenance. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds
