Job Summary

The purpose of the position is to oversee the planning developing organizing promoting coordinating & execution of a variety of comprehensive programs at the site. A Statement of Work & Supv Authority is prepared specific to the assigned MWR noting the facilities & programs under the technical mgt of the incumbent & the positions of all employees supervised by the incumbent This statement will be attached to the specific PD at the site provided to the incumbent & filed in the incumbent's OPF

Job Description

Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Hospitality or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years' experience in at least one area of recreation at a management level, or documented education & training plus a minimum of 5 years management experience in one or more facets of recreation. Must possess a sound knowledge of recreational and club operations, athletic programs, hobby/social programs, and child and youth programs. Must have a thorough knowledge of financial management, including budgeting, cost and profitability, financial reporting, internal controls, auditing, and purchasing. Must be articulate in verbal and written communication, and be able to deal effectively and efficiently with employees, customers, and all levels of the military community. Must have the ability to plan, schedule and supervise work to achieve the most efficient utilization of facilities, employees and equipment. Must have the ability to problem solve, improvise when necessary, work under pressure and handle crises effectively.
