Job Summary

This position is located in the Division of Insurance and Research, Headquarters, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of ensuring that regulatory data is reported accurately and meeting various stakeholder needs, assisting users of this information to understand the regulatory information better or to analyze it in conjunction with market-based data.

Job Description

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-11: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 09 level in the Federal Service, working with bank reporting requirements, the bank examination process, capital and money markets, and economic conditions impacting financial institutions; and analyzing the banking industry to identify economic developments that could affect insured institutions. OR You may substitute a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.M, if related. Degree program must have a major study in one of the following: finance, business administration, economics, accounting, insurance, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, real estate operations, statistics, or other fields related to the position, such as agriculture, agricultural economics, farm, livestock or ranch management, or rural sociology. OR You may qualify by a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 2 years may be combined with experience as described above. CG-12: Applicant must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal service, resolving accounting, capital markets, and trust company issues to answer questions from internal and external sources; identifying economic developments affecting insured institutions; and compiling and supplying information for studies and policy decisions related to financial institutions. CG-13: Applicant must have at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade12 level in the Federal service, performing mathematical and statistical calculations, resolving accounting, capital markets, and trust company issues, determining the nature of those issues, considering alternatives, and making recommendations for corrective action; and compiling and supplying information for studies and policy decisions related to financial institutions.
