This vacancy is for a Security Specialist (Fleet Area Special Security Office), GS-0080-12. There is one position located in Seattle, WA and one position in Honolulu, HI. Selectee will have an option to apply for a preference location or both.

Job Description

To qualify for the GS-12: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lowest grade level (GS-11 level) in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to analyze and resolve difficult and complex security problems. Skill in developing guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various degrees or levels of security controls. Ability to respond to problems or questions involving implementation of security guidelines at lower levels and to inspect operating security programs for adequacy, efficiency, and need for improvement. Ability to provide authoritative interpretations and guidance to manage officials and other security specialists at the same and lower levels, and to resolve issues involving conflicting security requirements.
