Job Description
To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Reviewing technical vessel design and construction plans to determine compliance with regulations Resolving maritime vessel inspection controversies Identifying hazardous conditions and prescribed corrective actions Evaluating the compliance of foreign passenger vessel safety management systems with the International Safety Management Code and/or the International Standards Organization NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
